Results
The final tally resulted in 113 genus and 207 species being identified, GPS'd and researched, resulting in a total of 3443 plants documented. Included in this total count were several unknown plants that eluded identification, consisting of one shrub, one oak species, a couple of eucalyptus, several pittosporum and a handful of opuntia. These unknowns were excluded in later cartographic analysis.

Included in the Presidio Park Plant Survey were trees, shrubs, succulents, some ground covers, and other interesting species.

Excluded from the survey were low lying weeds, very small areas of ground cover, native grasses and non-native grass cultivars specific to lawn areas.

Of the 3443 plants documented, 2577 were non-native and 859 were native plants (not including unknown plants).

Breakdown
Of the 2577 non-native plants found the eucalyptus species was the most numerous with 25 species and 425 individual trees found. Also not indigenous and of note were aloe and acacia species. There are approximately 181 aloe plants stretching over 6 species. The acacia genus is represented by 75 plants in 12 different species categories. cacti, to include opuntia, cylindropuntia, echinocactus, and echinopsis comprise 156 plants with 13 species represented. There were 287 pine trees located represented by 7 different species, including the native Torrey pine (159). Additionally, 11 species of palms were found totaling 200 individual trees.

Also of note were the olive trees and kei apple plants. One hundred and sixty-five (165) olive trees were located. The olive trees in Presidio Park were all designated as European stock, although some may be olea africana. Dovyalis caffra or kei apple has at minimum 113 representatives in Presidio Park.
