Larry Bevers
For thirteen years Larry Bevers led a dedicated group of history lovers associated with the Mason Street School in its annual Las Posadas in Old Town. Los Posadas is a Christmas production that reenacts the procession of Joseph and Mary on a cold December night as they search for an inn for the birth of baby Jesus. A 65-year-old San Diego tradition, Los Posadas is preserving tradition and in doing so is maintaining a vital sense of place and history. For upholding this annual tradition and for his dedication over the years SOHO is pleased to honor and recognize this dedicated individual with the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, "A Room for Preservation" award. |
