Stein Family Farm
|
CHARLES AND BERTHA STEIN BOUGHT THEIR FARM in 1900 and immediately set to work to improve it. Both their families had immigrated from Germany in the 1880s to National City where there was a large German community at that time. Eventually, the couple had five children. Known today as the National City Living History Farm Preserve, the farm is a wonderful reminder of the city's agricultural heritage. The property includes the Stein's house, the barn, and other buildings along with over two acres of fruit trees and vegetable gardens, and farm animals. The site represents the last remnants of an early 20th-century farm in National City. Historic Stein Family Farm LINK |
