Featured Artists - The Winter Sisters

The Winter Sisters are Cathryn Beeks, Sandé Lollis, and Bonnie Nicholls, three original singer-songwriters. Known for their "in the round" performances, they collaborate on each other's songs adding rich harmonies, beautiful piano solos, percussion, variety, and tons of personality. Read about each of them below.

Cathryn Beeks has been writing and playing music with rock and country bands since 1996. In 2015 she started playing the ukulele and writing and performing solo. Her latest albums 20 Years Here (released in 2019) and The After Times (released in 2024) were both nominated for a San Diego Music Award, and in 2024 she was inducted into the San Diego Music Hall of Fame for her work as a promoter, producer, and champion of the local music scene. Her brand and podcast ListenLocalRadio.com has been serving San Diego's local music community since October of 2003. Besides being a singer-songwriter, Cathryn also peddles vintage and secondhand clothing and works in photography, art, filmmaking, and voiceover.

Sandé Lollis is an award-winning San Diego–based singer-songwriter who gathers stories the way others gather light—through lived moments, half-heard conversations, well-worn books, and the quiet drift of thought. From these fragments, she shapes songs that linger, pairing original melodies with lyrics that move through love, heartbreak, and the subtle turns of an inner life. Her voice carries a rare openness, meeting listeners where they are and leaving them with the feeling of having been understood.

Bonnie Nicholls is a singer-songwriter known for a playful performance style, a sense of humor, and songs about women in bars. She can make an audience weep about dementia or laugh about divorce. She released a new EP, Meet the New Me, in October 2025. A multi-instrumentalist, Bonnie plays in two bands: The Winter Sisters and Birds on a Train. She is pleased as punch to perform at The Marston House for the first time.
