The City is fast-tracking Package A of the Preservation and Progress initiative through a series of key hearings.
It is crucial that supporters show up, speak, and submit comments. The next meeting is this Thursday, November 6.
Nearly 50 people attended the City’s October 3 virtual workshop on "Amendments and Recommendations for Package A" of the City’s Preservation and Progress initiative. Important details and concerns were again presented directly to City staff, outlining standing issues to the HRB as well as new problems introduced by the City’s proposed changes, but they remain unaddressed.
Since the workshop, both the Historic Resources Board (HRB) and the Community Planners Committee (CPC) rejected “Package A.”
These wins demonstrate the power of thoughtful, fact-based advocacy. SOHO’s testimony emphasized that historic preservation decisions must remain grounded in facts, not politics.
Now, the next critical step is your participation. It is crucial that supporters show up, speak, and submit comments.
