Fresh Arrivals and Timeless Favorites at the Marston House Museum Shop
March/April 2026
Fine art meets leisure time: Our selection of 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzles feature intriguing, colorful designs by Angela Harding, William Morris, and Frank Lloyd Wright, and they pair well with playing cards from Liberty of London. |
A curated selection of gift-worthy gems welcomes you at the shop entrance: hand-poured Marston Company candles in classic apothecary jars, Baudelaire soaps, decorative matchboxes from World Buyers, and artisan candles from Fly Paper Products. |
The Frank Lloyd Wright collection at the Marston House Museum Shop showcases the architect's iconic geometric and organic designs across puzzles, games, and drinking glasses—bringing legendary design into everyday use. |
Handcrafted in San Diego, QuirkyStitch bowl cozies feature Arts and Crafts patterns, including William Morris's beloved Strawberry Thief design, as well as attractive fabrics inspired by that aesthetic. Made with six layers of 100% cotton, these nestlike microwave-safe cozies blend cottage craft with everyday practicality. |
Whether you’re stopping by while on a walk through the gardens or looking for a thoughtful gift, you'll discover the Marston House Museum Shop has been restocked with some lovely new finds. We’ve brought in a fresh mix of puzzles, stationery, and home goods, all inspired by art, design, and the natural world—items we genuinely enjoy being around, and think you will, too.
If you enjoy classic design (or just a high-quality deck of cards), check out two new playing card sets from Liberty of London. The Liberty Archive Playing Card Deck features some of the renowned textile company’s historic patterns, printed on high quality, sturdy cards that feel good to use. For a gift-ready option, the Liberty London Floral Playing Card Set includes two decks packaged together in a decorative keepsake box. Both make great gifts or a treat for yourself, if you love historic patterns and design.
Our stationery shelves have also been refreshed with a new batch of well-designed journals and notebooks we’re especially excited about. We’re happy to carry a wide selection from Peter Pauper Press, a family-owned company that has been making, as their slogan says, “fine books at prices even a pauper could afford” since 1928. These hardbound journals use high-quality, acid-free paper that works well with pen or pencil, and they come in a wide range of designs, from floral favorites like Antique Blossoms, Falling Blossoms, and Poppies in Bloom to nature-inspired themes, such as Hummingbird, Florentine Bees, and Midsummer Day. You’ll find gleaming decorative styles like Gilded Branch, Gilded Butterflies, and Gilded Onyx alongside classics like Tiffany Window and whimsical designs including Orange Fairy and Tree of Budgies. They’re perfect for journaling, creative writing, travel notes, or gifting.
We’ve also added several notebook sets that are easy to tuck into a pocket or bag or to present as a gift. These sets of three mini and standard notebooks feature designs by William Morris and Angela Harding, along with wildlife themes, illustrations by Nina Pace, Alice in Wonderland motifs, and designs inspired by Kew Gardens. They’re practical, well-made, and fun to use. Our education director is fond of tucking a slim, mini-sized notebook into a greeting card and highly recommends this little surprise for an added thoughtful touch.
For fans of American architecture and design, we always carry popular pieces from the Frank Lloyd Wright collection, including puzzles, games, and drinking glasses. These are longtime shop favorites and make easy hostess gifts or distinctive additions to your home.
We’re especially proud to now offer a selection of bowl cozies, handmade in San Diego by longtime SOHO member and supporter Cheryl Clark. Her QuirkyStitch cozies even come with a poem! Featuring familiar Arts and Crafts era patterns, including William Morris’s ever-popular Strawberry Thief, these substantial fabric “nests” protect your fingers when removing a potentially hot bowl from a microwave oven or serving a steaming bowl of soup. Made with six layers of 100% cotton, they’re microwave-safe, of course, machine washable, and surprisingly handy to have around the kitchen.
All of these items and plenty more are available in the shop or online. Whether you're shopping for yourself or picking out a meaningful gift, we hope you’ll stop in the Museum Shop and take a look.
