New Year, New Treasures at the Marston House Museum Shop
January/February 2026
Add a touch of whimsy to your home or office with Angie Pickman’s charming cat magnet set, a miniature work of art. |
At the Marston House Museum Shop, we’re welcoming 2026 with a thoughtful selection of new merchandise that celebrates history, artistry, and the natural world. Whether you’re refreshing your home, mailing a beautiful note, or settling in for a cozy winter pastime, our latest arrivals offer something special.
We are always adding to our paper goods and stationery collection, one of our new favorite artists being Angie Pickman of Rural Pearl Studio. Pickman is a nationally recognized cut-paper artist whose distinctive style blends the centuries-old art of silhouette cutting with modern collage. Her pieces, often portraying serene birds, playful cats, and vibrant flowers, capture a storybook sense of wonder. We carry her greeting cards and four-pack magnet sets, each a small piece of art that feels lovingly handmade and perfect for sharing.
For those who can’t resist a beautifully crafted notebook, the newest limited-edition release from Field Notes has arrived: “The Birds and Trees of North America.” This edition celebrates the work of artist Rex Brasher (1869–1960), who devoted his life to painting birds of this continent in their natural habitats.
If you’re looking to refresh your home decor, our new handcrafted coasters bring both beauty and function. Studio Vertu coasters look as if they were pulled from an ancient excavation. Each tile is finished by hand, creating unique variations in tone and texture. We chose designs featuring bright California poppies, sleek Mid-Century Modern patterns, and detailed succulent motifs—something for every style of home.

We are also introducing items from The Painted Lily, a small studio specializing in stone coasters that embody the spirit of the decorative arts. Blue Tapestry, Nouveau Garden, and William Morris–inspired florals add colorful and historic accents to any coffee table or desk, making them a thoughtful gift or a useful personal indulgence.
Of course, we couldn’t welcome a new year without celebrating California itself. Our offerings from SF Mercantile flaunt the state’s irresistible appeal through their “California Bear Hug” collection, drawn from the 1913 sheet music cover for “I Love You, California.”
For quiet, absorbing pastimes, our expanded jigsaw puzzle selection offers satisfying challenges and beautiful art. Assembling images like Angela Harding’s serene “Marsh Owl” and Kate Heiss’s lively “Sunflower Fields” provides a meditative, earth-conscious experience. Art lovers will also appreciate puzzles inspired by historic architecture and design. We have several new ones showcasing the distinct designs of Frank Lloyd Wright, perfect for fans of Modern and Organic architecture. Additionally, we offer timeless designs borrowed from the Arts and Crafts Movement, including the 1,000-piece “William Morris: Golden Lily” and the 500-piece “Magnolia” by Mabel Royds, which captures the warmth and delicacy of her floral prints.
All of these new items, and many other treasures, are available at the Marston House Museum Shop and in our online store. Each purchase supports SOHO’s preservation work and helps sustain our museums. Stop by, explore, and find something that inspires you as we step into the new year together.
