Welcome Back to the Marston House! Celebrate With Us on August 6, 2017

The scaffolding is coming down. There is a new roof and rain gutter system, constructed with historically accurate materials, protecting our beautiful National Register landmark. The Marston House will soon reopen, ready to greet friends, neighbors, and out-of-town guests.

SOHO will celebrate the completion of this essential, months-long project on Sunday, July 30. To welcome back our visitors, all tours-all day will cost just $5 each! And, guests will receive a $5 discount coupon to return another day or to share with a friend.

Regular museum hours are from 10am to 5pm, with the last tour at 4pm. Tours start every half hour.

Yes! Four walking tours are included in the All Tours-All Day $5 welcome.

To add cheerful living color to the celebration, specially developed geraniums will be on sale. Jim and Linda Zemcik, our favorite expert horticulturists, will provide a broad selection of local varieties, including Geranium George, a plant specially propagated in honor of George Marston to benefit the Marston House.

Summery light refreshments of cookies, ice tea and lemonade will be served. And as always, the charming Marston House Museum Shop will be open in the historic carriage house. It is filled with home and garden treasures, regionally and historically relevant books, Balboa Park landscape paintings by San Diego artists, and Arts & Crafts pottery.

Spend all of August 6 with us, take all five tours, or just stop by for the tour of your choice and refreshments. It is time to get reacquainted with the Marston House. We have missed you!
