2015 Exposition Centennial Exhibits
Exhibit and House Museum Docents are volunteers for the Marston House Museum & Gardens 2015 educational and entertaining exhibits. There will be a variety of accompanying programming, introducing visitors of all ages to the art, architecture and gardens of the 1915 and 1935 San Diego Expositions. Please click HERE to read about the following four exciting exhibits planned for 2015.

  • Balboa Park Exposition Designers 1915-1935
  • Souvenirs & Keepsakes: Memorabilia of the 1915 & 1935 Expositions
  • Art of the Park, 100 Years of Art in Balboa Park (1915-2015)
  • Exposition Memories: The music, literature and decorative arts of the 1915 San Diego Exposition

Docent Training
No prior education or experience in architecture, history or art is necessary; an interest in these areas is all that is required. However, those wishing to volunteer should be comfortable working and communicating with the public.

To prepare volunteers to educate museum visitors, training is required. Volunteers will need to:

  • Attend an orientation session
  • Shadow museum tours
  • Study the provided material
  • Attend on going training

We look forward to sharing in an exciting year with you as we celebrate this milestone in San Diego's history!

If you are interested please complete the Docent Application Form.
