The Neighborhood Historic Preservation Coalition announces its San Diego City Mayoral Candidate Forum

The Neighborhood Historic Preservation Coalition is comprised of 16 neighborhood groups in San Diego County. To help commemorate National Historic Preservation Month, NHPC invited all four major Mayoral candidates to participate in this year's Primary election forum. Only Congressman Bob Filner agreed, citing his strong interest and commitment to San Diego's older neighborhoods and their active community groups. Bonnie Dumanis and Carl DeMaio declined our invitation to meet, citing schedule conflicts. Nathan Fletcher did not respond.

The public policies and activities of City government have a significant impact on our community and this Preservation Forum provides an opportunity for dialog, through questions and answers, spotlighting the important issues facing San Diego's older and historic neighborhoods.

The Neighborhood Historic Preservation Coalition thanks Congressman Filner for participating in this important dialog with our 16 neighborhoods. We look forward to an evening of sharing ideas and solutions.

The media and the general public are encouraged to attend this free Forum.
