Talking thru Her Hat

Wednesday-Sunday · 12-4pm
Women's Museum of California
2730 Historic Decatur Road, San Diego CA 92106

Is a hat a frivolous accessory or a necessity? History indicates that hats have been both. Human beings sought protection from the elements but they also were used for adornment, much like today. Hats have a long history as markers of status, occupation, and even political affiliation. This exhibit is a rare view of the hats in our Museum collection and also those on loan from collectors and milliners in our community including those of nationally established milliner, Diana Cavagnaro, who will feature her hats known around San Diego throughout the decades and the Del Mar Racetrack.
