And, on April 25 and 27, the organization scheduled a tour of old homes and public buildings in Horton's Addition, New Town, which included the Horton Hotel on F between 3rd and 4th, the I.O.O.F. Building on 6th and Market, the Hook and Ladder Company at 1572 Columbia, the Jewish Synagogue at 2nd and Beech, the New Town Park, and an Irving Gill house at 3500 7th.

The third annual "Train Ride Into Yesteryear" departed from the Santa Fe Depot on Saturday, May 11, for a trip into historic areas and mansions of Los Angeles.

A grand "Victorian Fete" to honor the 155th anniversary of Queen Victoria's birthday was held on June 22, to raise funds to move another Victorian structure-the Christian house-to Heritage Park. SOHO figured it would need $30,000 to move the 1889 structure, named for its original owner, Harfield Timberlake Christian, and an additional $70,000 to restore it. The organization incorporated a walking, cycling, and double-decker English bus tour which led visitors to four Victorian residences in the Uptown area including Robert Miles Parker's house at 1929 Front, the Christian home at 232 Cedar, and the Burton dwelling at 1970 3rd, known then at the Diabetes Association headquarters. Musicians played continuously at the Burton house, California Clowns offered balloons printed with "SAVES," and an Art Mart was set up around the historic Morton Bay fig tree across from the Burton site.

After William Cartwright assumed the presidency of SOHO in September, he took charge of the temporary moving of the historic but vandalized Bushyhead house from Cedar to 3rd. Donated by two local attorneys, Robert S. Kennedy and Clyde C. Crockett, the building faced demolition if had not financed the $6000 move in December. In addition to the Christian and Bushyhead house, the group also planned to move the Burton residence to Heritage Park.
