45th Annual Meeting & Election
A special thanks to the over 75 members who braved the tremendous 95° heat and attended the 46th annual membership meeting in the beautiful Marston House formal gardens, where George and Anna Marston celebrated their 50th anniversary. We were delighted and honored to share this historic location, and lots of delicious food and delightful conversation with old and new SOHO friends.

We held our election of board members and officers and welcomed returning members and are pleased to introduce new board member John Rush, who with his wife Bonnie have been some of SOHO's staunchest supporters.

Members took the opportunity to see the last exhibition day for Art of the Park: 100 Years of Art in Balboa Park (1915-2015), which coincided with the last art in the garden show with simply some of San Diego's most talented artists. Board member Sandy Shapery brought one of his amazing Electriquettes for visitors to ride in though most opted to pose with, and the San Diego Penny Farthing Club provided an of-the-era ambiance, along with Whaley House docent Jim Train, whose period Model T automobile was another photo opportunity hit! Artist Rita Pacheco captured the day in a way that only a plein air artist can, these paintings will be available in the Marston House Museum Shop in time for holiday shopping.
