It is inconceivable that a monumental work such as this fabulous 1897 Irving Gill masterpiece would have ever been demolished at any time in San Diego history. We can't imagine that anyone would have thought that it was a good idea to get rid of this building! Its quality is of the caliber of buildings in our nation's capital. We have nothing like this today in San Diego. This work should have been part of San Diego's legacy for generations to come. Instead fix your gaze on its replacement, portable classroom buildings and container storage units. (Click on images to enlarge)
