In 2000, the City of San Diego approved a project allowing demolition of this national treasure before the project was ready to be constructed. This is against city ordinance. Today this empty lot is an eyesore with no project in sight and houses not a national treasure but weeds and a dumpster. (Click on images to enlarge)
