Acknowledging Receipt
of Individual Site Designation Request form

The form at the link below is required to be submitted along with a nomination report for historical designation. It has been revised to include language regarding the new fee schedule for designation requests. Please note that the form must be signed by the property owner acknowledging the requirement for payment of a fee prior to staff work on the nomination request. The nomination report will not be accepted without the owner's signature. Due to the lengthy backlog of requests we are not requiring submittal of the fee with the nomination request. The fee will be required approximately 90 days prior to docketing the nomination for a designation hearing before the HRB. Property owners will be notified of the payment due date three weeks in advance.

The fees and other Mills Act reforms became effective December 15, 2008. A reduced nomination fee of $500 was approved for all properties in the pipeline for designation prior to this date. Information regarding the City's revised Mills Act Program will be posted to our website www.sandiego.gov/historic the week of January 5, 2009. In addition, affected property owners will be sent information via U.S. mail that same week.
