Life Estate Agreement
Under a Life Estate Agreement, a personal residence, vacation house or other real property can be deeded to SOHO and the donor retains the right to use the property during the donor's lifetime. The donor also retains the right to any income produced by the property during the donor's lifetime. The donor receives a tax deduction in the year of the gift equal to the value of the remainder interest in the property. After the death of the donor, SOHO receives the property.
