Lemon Grove Historical Society
November/December 2017
The Lemon Grove Historical Society recently launched an impressive new and suitably lemony website HERE. They generously include a page describing SOHO and two other large preservation organizations they work with as "worthy of applause." The other two are the Congress of History of San Diego and Imperial Counties and the San Diego History Center.
"For 40 years and longer, we have admired those key preservation groups, whose Herculean labors, guts, and perseverance led to the saving of key buildings and places," Helen Ofield, Executive Board President, wrote in an email. "We are two months into building our new website and didn't want to greet the world without hailing our gifted and talented friends and colleagues in the groups we admire."
The website is written by Ofield, who worked with Claire Condra, LGHS Vice President for Digital Media, and Jack Doherty, one of the society's founding members, a member of Lemon Grove's inaugural City Council in 1977, and a website builder.
