Irving Gill: Progress & Poetry in Architecture

Advance tickets are now available for events in SOHO's celebration Irving Gill: Progress & Poetry in Architecture, M. Wayne Donaldson will help launch the six-month commemoration on Friday, September 23 with his lecture "Irving Gill: Architect, Poet & Humanist." This event also includes a rare opportunity before the lecture to tour the First Church of Christ, Scientist, which Gill designed in 1910 in Bankers Hill. Light refreshments are included.

Three new walking tours have been curated by SOHO board member and Gill expert Erik Hanson that better reflect Gill's progression of work and his legacy. Get your tickets now for Urban Poetry: Irving Gill & Bankers Hill and A Progressive Vision: San Diego's Seventh Avenue, which begin on October 9 and October 16, respectively and The Marston House: Architectural Details of Master Architects Hebbard & Gill debuts Sunday, October 23.

These tours will kick off with the citywide architecture festival called Archtoberfest in October, and will be ongoing monthly tours or may be reserved for private group tours.
