Old House Fair & Ask the Experts

Old house owners and historic preservationists won't want to miss the 19th annual Old House Fair & Vintage Row on Saturday, June 17 from 10am to 4pm. Headquartered at 30th and Beech Streets in South Park, the fair offers a home and garden tour and street festival. Here you'll find vintage home specialists, local makers, craft beer and wine, restaurants, food vendors, live music, artists and kid's activities in celebration of the historic homes and character of the historic neighborhood.

As an Old House Fair sponsor, SOHO will return with our Ask the Old House Experts booth, always a lively hub. A variety of community experts will answer questions on everything from house research and designation to proper restoration techniques to rehabilitating old windows. We will also feature a display of period tile, hardware and other old house artifacts, and our latest titles from Our Heritage Press will be available for sale. What a great time to join SOHO or renew your membership!

Next to SOHO's booth, you can buy gorgeous, blossoming geranium plants cultivated in our Geranium George program, which benefits the Marston House Museum & Gardens.

A home tour ticket gets you into five historic homes and on and off a trolley that makes a loop all day. Most homes are within walking distance of each other. (Sorry, no photos, strollers or restroom access in the homes.)

A large area of the vendors' offerings cater to old house dwellers, offering products like paint and flooring, vintage furniture, restoration and repair services, and landscape design. You'll probably recognize a number of them as SOHO members and/or your neighbors.
