Shop SOHO A marvelous Valentine for art lovers and history buffs has arrived in the Marston House Museum Shop. Emerging from the Shadows: A Survey of Women Artists Working in California, 1860-1960 by Maurine St. Gaudens is a four-volume set chronicling the lives and work of 320 trailblazing artists in alphabetical order. St. Gaudens, an author, curator and conservator who lives in Southern California, researched, uncovered and tracked down personal and professional information on the artists. Some are well-known, but dozens might otherwise have been forgotten or lost to history. They worked in a host of styles and media. New information and many of the more than 2,000 images have not been published before, according to Shiffer Publishing.
