California Theatre

California TheatreDowntown's long-abandoned California Theatre, built in 1927, is a shuttered, neglected landmark waiting to spring back to life. You may remember attending concerts or theatrical performances there. If this venue is not revived as an auditorium, there are some intriguing adaptive re-use and mixed-use ideas out there that could work. The building is an integral part of downtown and must be preserved. SOHO is currently talking with its new owners and we are hopeful after decades of uncaring and at times vandalous owners, that the California will finally get its due and be brought back to the mega star it is.

A defaced California Theatre.
