Old San Diego Police Headquarters

Master architects Alberto Treganza and the Quayle Brothers designed this Spanish Revival WPA built structure in 1939. There has been tremendous public outcry to preserve it. Current Port plans are to demolish 46% of this outstanding San Diego treasure. This would remove its status as a "Certified Historic Structure." A design competition is in progress for this site. We must prevail on the Port to select a proposal that incorporates this most wonderful of public buildings, rather than cutting it in half and destroying its significance.
